Boarding Services

Hidden Acres is one of the only open field daycare and boarding facility on the island with two one-acre grass fields for your dog to play, socialize and exercise. The total property is 52 acres which is ideal for our pack hikes. Our exercise areas are supervised by professional dog trainers and your dog will have total instructor interactions all day. Our indoor kennels are temperature controlled for all year comfort. Your dog will have regular outside time every day in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Putting your dog’s safety, physical and mental well-being above everything else is our number one priority while providing you with peace of mind during your time away.

Boarding includes:

• Eight hours of play in open-air, fully-fenced fields 

• Dogs play together

• Fully covered kennels for rest times and lunch breaks 

• Fully supervised play at all times by dog handlers and trainers

• Organized play groups — large dogs in one field, small to medium dogs in a separate field 

• Open farm-like grass setting, one-acre play areas with 9 ft fencing

• Special care for puppies with separate supervised puppy play area 

• Human trainer interaction all day. Dogs are never unsupervised. Personal attention is given to each and every dog.

• 24-hour onsite care 

• One-hour evening playtime 

• Late night potty and night checks between 8 and 9 pm 

• Heated and air-conditioned kennel barn 

Drop-off and pick-up

Drop-off time: Between 8 and 9 am
Pick-up time: Between 8 and 9 am OR between 3 and 4:30 pm  
(NOTE: there will be an additional $42 daycare fee when picking up in the afternoon)

IMPORTANT: Dogs coming into our care must visit us one month prior to trip for two daycare days to prepare for their stay. Please contact us ahead of your travel plans.

What to bring

Dogs should have a shopping bag with their name on it and include whatever food and instructions is needed during their stay. We also ask that you include a rain coat and a towel labelled with your dog’s name. There is a clip on the kennel door where your bag will stay until the time you pick up your dog. All dogs need to have a buckle collar. Harnesses will be removed on drop-off as they tend to rub under the elbows in the warmer weather. It will be put back on for pick-up.

Hidden Acres will provide carpet beds raised off the kennel floor. If you want to bring your dog’s bed please know that we cannot guarantee that it won’t get chewed or damaged. We will also provide food bowls and water buckets.

Vaccines

The kennel cough vaccine is mandatory and we ask that you apply flea treatment before coming to boarding.

Payment and refund terms

Fee: $65.00 per day plus 5% GST = $68.25 per day
Please send your e-transfer payment to payment@hidden-acres.ca. Please note, all boarding payments are due at time of booking confirmation.

Note, there will be an additional $10 fee per day for stat holidays.

Cancellation policy: We require 30 days notice of cancellation for a full refund and two weeks notice for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received under less than two weeks.

Special cases

We are experienced with unneutered dogs and intact females. Females can come during their heat but we ask that you advise upon arrival if your dog has come into heat. We accept puppies from 16 weeks.
